My Favorite Itailian Resturants
By Randy Smith
Here are some of my favorite restaurants I recommend when visiting Providence Rhode Island area. There are many more restaurants on the Federal Hill in Providence but these four I visit the most. It should be noted that Alforno’s Restaurant is not located on the Federal Hill but is located in the heart of the city. All four of these restaurants are a wonderful choice for dining but offer some unique items on their menu. First let’s start with Alfono. This one of the few restaurants I have visited that you start off by ordering desert. The reason is all the deserts are made to order. So while you eating your meal their pastry chef is putting the finishing touches on your desert. The Blue Grotto is a classic Italian menu that offers out side tables. If you’re a people watcher this is the place for you. If you are an Osso Bucco fan, well you have arrived at your utopia. Don’t get me wrong I love their entire menu, but eating out side a night with you favorite dish, well it does not get any better than that. Camille’s is another fine example of classic Italian food. My favorite appetizer is the Camille's Hot Antipasto for Two, their Scampi, stuffed artichoke hearts, clams, eggplant rolls are to die for. Be very hungry when you visit. Zooma’s menu is a little more modern but still offers great examples of classic dishes with an upscale twist. Zooma offers a late night bistro menu seven nights a week serving pizza, wraps, salads, pasta, skirt steak and a whole lot more.
