Borsig Ball Valve Stem and Seal Replacement

Step 1 Remove valve body pressure by blowing down the valve body
Step 2 Open body drain on valve, vent the valve or plug before body draining.
Step 3 Configure piping so that valve body can be continuously drained into a vessel rated for product being drained.
Step 4 Loosen the stem adjustment screws.
Step 5 Carefully remove the operator mounting screws.
Step 6 Remove adapter plate and scribe a mark for orientation.
Step 7 Thread rods into the gland plate.
Step 8 Evenly remove gland out of stem.
Step 9 Remove spring loaded stem seal.
Step 10 clean surfaces of the valve stem and body.
Step 11 Fill secondary seal with Valtex 750 or similar product.
Step 12 Install replacement gland o – rings and spring loaded stem seal.
Step 13 Remove dowels the pins from the mounting plate and adjust the stem screws until flush.
Step 14 Press the replacement seal and gland ring in to the assemble.
Step 15 Install the mounting plate to its proper orientation. Verify this is level.
Step 16 Tighten mounting screws using a crisscross tightening pattern.
Step 17 Open and close stem vent while valve body refills.
Step 18 Verify there are no leaks.
